Back lacing gowns - $55.00-75.00
The back lacing gowns are made with 100% cotton, fustian or linen. They have boning up the center back and a shift is worn underneath. The smaller sizes have leader strings sewn into the shoulder seams.(like the one pictured) Boys, before they were breeched, could have worn this style as well!

Shift or Chemise - $25.00
The shift is an undergarment and is worn under everything we wear. It is cut from one length of fabric and will not have shoulder seams. Ours have a longer sleeve and under arm gussets. They have a drawstring neck and are made with 100% white cotton. I have not found any documentation for colored shifts.

Petticoat - $25.00
Petticoats (or skirts) are both an under and outer garment. Women would wear multiple petticoats at one time. Our petticoats are 60' to 90' in width (except for the smaller sizes) and have a drawstring waist with pocket slits on the sides. We also put in 2-2" grow tucks at the hemline. They will be able to wear this petticoat for a long time!

Shortgowns - $35.00
The shortgown has a low neckline and is cut from one piece of fabric so it won't have shoulder seams. We add extentions for a longer sleeve. They have a pleat in the back and drawstring neckline. The shortgowns can be lined or not. It is to be pinned down the front and an apron to help keep it closed. This jacket is worn for day wear. Please see note on jackets!

Bed Gown or Jacket - $35.00 to 45.00
Our bed jackets are made from one length of fabric so as not to have shoulder seams. They are thigh length and have box pleats in the back and on each side. It has sleeve extentions and is to be pinned down the front. An apron is worn to help keep it closed and also to keep the out garments clean. This jacket is worn for day wear as well. Please see note on jackets!

Juste-au-Corps or Fitted Jacket - $45.00
This is a tighter fitting jacket. It has elbow length sleeves, low neckline and is boned in center front to strengthen the jacket for lacing closed. This is a more shapely style of jacket. Please see note on jackets!

Notes on Jackets - $
Short gowns and bed gowns are a working woman's garment. Jackets with boning could be worn as an outer garment. Bed gowns were found in inventories as early as 1730's. Short gowns are found in the 1760's and worn into the 1800's. As the Revolutionary period approached styles were shorter and tighter to conserve the fabric that was so hard to come by. I am of the opinion that the short gown is shorter and a less full version of the bed gown. But, I can't even pretend to know the 18th C. mind set and why they did the things they did! The hardest part of what we do is the terminology of the times! Just like today we have blouses, tee shirts, sweatshirts and on and on. They had different names for their styles just as we do today! As I continue my research and documentation of period styles, garments and fabrics used, I will keep providing accurate childrens clothing.

Polonaise Gown - $125.00 to 150.00
This gown is a little fancier than the back lacing gown. We make it just like Moms! The stomacher is wider and I have added some room in the sleeve area for comfort. The sleeves have ruffles or can be made without them. You have a choice of fabric for the under petticoat. There is also a 2" grow tuck at the hem.

Wool Capes - $75.00 to 150.00
Our wool capes are full length and have a hood. We line them with double napped cotton flannel for a warm and soft feel. We can put arm slits in them but, in paintings and descriptions I have not seen any arm holes.
